domestic worker.
3. As regards the super-
vision of the registered Mui
Tsai, this has been the special
duty of the Chinese Affairs
Department, and in particular of
the European Police Inspector
who is attached to that Depart-
ment. The Governor recently
personally visited a number of
houses where registered Mui
Tsai were known to be living.
These houses were selected at
random, and no information was
given respecting the Governor's
proposed visit. The Governor's
investigations showed that in
general the conditions were
satisfactory, but he determined
that further steps should be
taken
